My quistion is why from earth we only see parts of the moon and not the whole thing?

every single day and night the moon is always out thec WHOLE moon is ALWAYS out. while we are on earth we can only see some of the moon. the reason that we only see a portion of it is because only a portion is actually lit up. the moon does not have its own supply of light the moon reflects light of the sun. when the sunds light doesnt hit the moon then the moon does not shine in the sky. so that explains itself the reason why we can only see part of the moon is because the sun isnt completely shining on the moon because the earth's is the way. just like when a cloud covers the sun really quick then t gets really dark for a quisck second.
